Park Synagogue's philosophy is that Jewish learning should never stop, and that there is always something new to learn about Judaism. With that in mind, Park offers formal and informal learning opportunities for adults of all ages and backgrounds.
Rabbi's Bible Class
Rabbi Skoff leads a thought-provoking weekly Bible study class. The class reads the upcoming week's Torah portion in English and then discusses its meaning and how it relates to our lives today. The class is open to individuals of all ages and educational backgrounds. No registration or reservations are necessary - come weekly or whenever your schedule allows.
Talmud Study Group
Join Rabbi Aaron Bayer on Sunday mornings during the Religious School year from 9:30 to 10:30 am at Park Synaogue East. No pre-registration is necessary and the program is open to all.
Adult Bat Mitzvah Class
Never had a bat mitzvah as a young girl? This class gives women of all ages the opportunity to learn or brush up on Hebrew skills, Jewish history and philosophy, and learn to chant a Torah and Haftarah portion in preparation for a small group bat mitzvah. Class meets in the evening at Park Synagogue East. Open to Park members only.
Jewish Life Skills
Gain life skills with a Jewish twist with Ilana Horowitz Ratner, Park’s Jewish Life Educator. Classes are held on Sunday mornings at Park Synagogue East. No fee or registration necessary.
All levels of Hebrew students can learn to navigate the siddur (prayerbook) and read the prayers in both the Friday night and Saturday morning Shabbat services. The class meets at Park Synagogue East on Thursdays in the early evening and is taught by Valerie Levinsohn. Registration necessary.
Join the Park Sisterhood on Tuesday mornings from October-May for a variety of classes: Yiddish class, Potpourri with a speaker from the community with a different interesting topic each week, and a discussion with either Rabbi Sharon Marcus or Rabbi Joshua Skoff. Fee required to attend classes.
