SEGULA provides educational opportunities to families in Cleveland's Jewish community who seek a Jewish day school education for children with special needs. Without the support, adaptations and educational interventions that are provided by the SEGULA staff, the opportunity to attend a Jewish day school would not be available to the students. The program serves students in preschool through high school graduation. Student's special needs include: ADHD, anxiety disorder, Autism, developmental challenges, Down syndrome, language impairments, learning disabilities, medical and physical disabilities.
SEGULA, meaning "special treasure" in Hebrew, has a professional team that provides vital services that ensure a meaningful and successful learning experience for the child and fellow classmates. Judaic and Secular Educational coordinators design the educational plan for each child, supervise the instructional aides, develop adaptive material, evaluate student progress and work with classroom teachers and parents. The instructional aide works with individual students in the Judaic and secular classrooms.
