Hebrew for Teens

Grades 9-12

In small classes learning Hebrew @akiva will be a great experience. Registration is open to students in grades 9-12. For high school credit, options include the traditional @akiva Tuesday-Thursday format or individualized schedules. Informal one-on-one instruction is also available.

Grades 10-11

icnext engages high school students in our Jewish community in learning about and experiencing Israel. Each year, 10-12 graders from different Jewish backgrounds come together. They meet for 4 hours per month to learn, and talk about Israel. They travel to Israel for 10 days and are involved in a second year, Fellowship Project.

Testimony Theater Cleveland

Grades 7-12

Testimony Theater Cleveland connects Cleveland teens with Holocaust survivors and their families. Students, from 7th through 12th grades, create and perform vignettes based on interviews. Through connecting, interviewing, and performing, the stories of those who experienced the Holocaust are being remembered and shared

IsraelNow Cleveland

Grade 8

Set flight on a truly rewarding journey with IsraelNow. Our trips let Jewish eighth graders from Cleveland experience Israel in a fun, guided, and educational way. From making new memories with new friends to exploring must-see destinations, IsraelNow trips are a gift you will cherish forever.

Teen Civil Rights Journey

Grade 9

The Teen Civil Rights Journey will educate, inspire and empower 9th grade students. While traveling to Atlanta, Ga., Montgomery and Birmingham, Al., participants will meet with Reverends who worked with Dr. Martin Luther King as well as people and participated in the historic March from Selma to Montgomery. We will discuss Jewish involvement in the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 60s. By visiting the Equal Justice Initiative, we help students understand that Civil Rights is an ongoing issue today.

Foundations for the Future

Grade 12

Foundations for the Future is a college-prep experience for Jewish high school students in grade 12. Through interactive training sessions and a meaningful spring seminar, participants will explore their Jewish identity, strengthen their leadership skills, and prepare for life beyond high school.

The B-Mitzvah Experience in Partnership with JHUB

Grades 6-7

This enrichment journey can be a standalone experience, or complement a synagogue program or other b-mitzvah experience. Immerse 6th and 7th graders in this group program to give them Jewish tools as they approach adulthood. The group of students will meet eight times during the school year, some with and some without parents. Each session will look at a different area of “adulting” through a Jewish lens and will meet in various spaces throughout Greater Cleveland.

Tween Scoop & Schmooze in Partnership with JHUB

Ages 8-13ish

Hebrew Club is for any tween who wants to explore modern Hebrew basic vocabulary and Israeli culture in a fun way. Together with jHUB and the fabulous team of Cleveland Shin Shinim (young Israelis here for the year to work with Cleveland youth), Hebrew Club participants will have a great time making friends and learning something new each month. Meets one Saturday afternoon a month from 1:00-2:00 PM, at various Mitchell’s Ice Cream locations.
